What does cannabis edibles do to you?
Cannabis edibles contain THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive compound in cannabis. This cannabinoid interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system to create a feeling of euphoria, deep relaxation, stress relief, and altered perception. In some cases, especially with higher doses of THC, it can cause anxiety, paranoia, panic attacks, and gastrointestinal distress. With edibles, THC is metabolized in the liver and converted to 11-hydroxy-THC. It’s more potent, which is why effects are often stronger and last longer.
