Are cannabis edibles better than smoking?

Cannabis edibles don’t pose the same health risk to the lungs as smoking, which is a benefit. But effects come on differently and often hit harder than smoked cannabis. The THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) in Cannabis edibles is metabolized in the liver, where it’s converted to a potent compound called 11-hydroxy-THC. It creates stronger effects that last longer, but they take much longer to kick in—up to two hours in some cases. Remember to start low and go slow when enjoying Cannabis edibles.
