Built on Tradition

Our story began long before the Farm Bill. Kentucky has been home to the finest sun-grown cannabis since 1775. Even when it wasn't legal. That's why they call us Cornbread.

  • Why Cornbread Hemp
  • Why Organic CBD Oil
  • Why Kentucky

We are a family-owned business who believes that cannabis is the most important natural remedy on Earth, and it’s our mission to make it accessible to everyone. That’s why we produce the highest quality CBD products legally available in the United States. We source exclusively from Kentucky and our oils are certified organic by the USDA.

We only use hemp flowers in our plant material base, never stems and leaves! We want to attain the highest quality CBD oil possible, so that means using the part of the plant that has the most CBD and cutting out the filler.

Most producers use CO2 extraction, which tends to make the product bitter and harsh, so they cover up the taste. Our organic sugarcane ethanol extraction method differentiates us from other brands. Our USDA certified organic CBD oils are smooth and natural tasting with no need for added flavors or sweeteners.

All of our hemp CBD oil products are Full Spectrum because we will only provide the most effective CBD products to our customers.

We can't wait to add you to our family!

Cannabis is a bio-accumulator, meaning that it naturally draws all of the toxins out of the soil it's planted in. Great for cleaning up the environment, but not for making CBD oil! It takes a lot of plants to make our super potent hemp flower extract, so we only source from organic farms in Kentucky that produce clean and sustainable hemp.

The USDA organic certification is the most trustworthy insurance that a product from the CBD market is safe and free from harmful chemicals. We use organic sugarcane ethanol to gently extract a full spectrum of cannabinoids from organic hemp flowers. For a carrier oil, we chose organic MCT coconut oil for maximum absorption. This has allowed us to attain the USDA certified organic seal on our CBD oils. Assuring your customers at first glance that our product has been vetted by the most trusted authority for organics.

Many major CBD brands source their hemp overseas, where it can be difficult to guarantee safety and quality. Responsible retailers looking for the best hemp derived CBD to offer their customers should make sure that the hemp biomass is sourced domestically.

Kentucky has been the nation's number one supplier of industrial hemp since the 1800s, and thanks to the 2018 US Farm Bill we are bringing those traditions back to life! Kentucky has an abundant water supply, and it has the perfect climate to sustainably cultivate hemp without harming the local ecosystem-- unlike many western states. This makes Kentucky grown hemp a great choice for retailers who are invested in supporting sustainable, organic products.

Kentucky lies along the earth's 37th parallel, the same latitude as the Hindu Kush mountains where the best cannabis in the world is grown. Cannabis loves growing in the Bluegrass State, and we are dedicated to presenting the best hemp derived CBD products that Kentucky has to offer!

Where did the name "Cornbread" come from?

Our co-founder, Jim Higdon, grew up in central Kentucky around the mythology of the Cornbread Mafia. They were a group of outlaws who kept Kentucky hemp traditions alive... by illegally growing and selling cannabis. Once Jim became a journalist, he wrote a book detailing the legacy of the Cornbread Mafia. The interest generated by the book's publication led him to team up with his first-cousin, Eric Zipperle, to form Cornbread Hemp. Their focus is to provide the best quality Kentucky grown CBD hemp oil products possible.

Are your products Third-Party lab tested?

Absolutely! Visit our third party lab report library. Your customers will conveniently be able to access a specific product's lab report by scanning a QR code on the package.

Our lab testing includes results for potency and full pesticide screening. They also include the test results for residual solvents, mycotoxins, heavy metals, and microbials.

Do you offer staff training or demos?

Yes and Yes! We are always available for staff training via Zoom. Our demo services are currently suspended due to Covid, but we are always willing to participate in some capacity for your store's events or promotions!

I don't have a CBD case in my store...

We've got you covered! We offer a great Retailer Starter Pack for those needing a case. If you buy 4 of each of our products at regular wholesale price, we can send you free lockable plexiglass case. Please contact us for more details about this offer!

Do you offer private labeling?

No, we do not offer white labels or private labels at this time.

What extraction process do you use to make your hemp extract?

We found that CO2 extraction can leave CBD oil with a harsh, bitter taste. And it is impossible to make CO2 extraction an organic process. Our hemp extract is made using organic sugarcane ethanol as a natural solvent to gently extract cannabinoids from organic hemp plant matter. This process allows our CBD hemp oil products to taste great naturally without the need for added flavors or sweeteners.

How quickly can you ship my wholesale CBD order?

Most orders placed Monday through noon on Friday are shipped within 24 hours of confirmation by our Wholesale Account Manager. However, orders placed after noon Friday may not be shipped until the following Monday.

What payment options are available for wholesale customers?

The first order must be paid for upfront on our website via card. We accept checks for restock invoice payments. Please contact us if you would like to use a different method of payment.
